Play and DIR Floortime Therapy
I provide therapeutic support for children (as young as four years old), utilizing DIR/Floortime Therapy to help them develop emotional regulation, communication skills, and meaningful connections with others. This evidence-based approach is especially effective for children with developmental delays, including those on the Autism Spectrum (ASD), as it focuses on their unique strengths and challenges while fostering progress through developmental milestones. Through playful, structured sessions, I address challenges like social engagement, sensory sensitivities, and self-expression in ways that feel natural and empowering. By collaborating closely with parents, I ensure strategies extend beyond the therapy room, offering tools to strengthen the parent-child bond and address behaviors in supportive, informed ways.
Parent Psychoeducation and Support
Parent psychoeducation helps families understand ADHD symptoms and their impact on a child’s behavior and development while teaching practical strategies to manage challenges like emotional regulation, time management, and hyperactivity. It also improves family dynamics and equips parents to advocate effectively for their child’s needs, including navigating 504 Plans, IEPs, and working with teachers. By fostering a supportive home environment and ensuring strong advocacy, parent psychoeducation empowers families to help their child thrive both academically and socially.
